About broderick

Broderick Hunter grew up in Fontana, California where he played basketball and attended all levels of grade school. He went on to play at the University of Central Florida, where he would further hope to further his education and play the game he loved. Pre-maturely, his aspirations of being a college basketball player came to a halt after a post game knee injury. This injury led him back to California in his hometown to heal and redevelop.

By 2010, Basketball wasn’t in his foresight. However, a photoshoot inquiry lead to a viral moment which then held a potential new career in modeling for Broderick.

In 2011, late -Model scout and manager, Michael Maddox, took on the young eager Broderick under his wing. They went off to sign contracts into several modeling markets in many cities later that year. Some of which included Miami, Milan and New York. Broderick soon became bi-coastal, allowing way for him to observe his response to being the new face in several different markets within the modeling industry. Broderick secured editorials for GQ, VIBE MAGAZINE and other outlets during his time between markets. He went on to make a footprint in the runway scene, being chosen to walk for D Squared in Milan Fashion Week at that time.

"Recognize your gifts & maximize them"
-the motto

Broderick returned to the United States to star in Ciara’s ‘Sorry’ music video, circa 2012.

Facing Ralph Lauren pillared Broderick as one of the most recognizable faces in the fashion scene by 2014 while based in NYC. Later campaigns included Tommy Hilfiger, Reebok, CK, Bloomingdales and more.

HBO’s ‘Insecure’ starring Issa Rae nabbed Broderick for a guest star appearance which led to staring in shows, movies, commercials on FOX, NBC, BET+, P&G and more, all while growing his youtube channel ‘Selfcare With Brod’.

Broderick continues to carry his own torch by sharing light and insight to his career for those who wish to follow. With launching his online guide ‘Sell Your Look’, he says “These are tools anyone can use to market themselves, not just a standard model.” His focus with this experience is to aid others in finding success in a competitive industry. Broderick currently resides in Los Angeles, CA where is still acting, modeling, building his mental health foundation ‘Free To Joy’ and explores new business ventures.
